Polish Scientific Society of Combustion Engines was created in 2002 as the initiative of Polish leading scientific, didactic and industrial centers associated with the theory, design and research of combustion engines of any purpose and application.

    Our society gathers specialists and employees professionally or emotionally related to combustion engines such as academic professors, directors of industrial enterprizes and highly specialized representatives of  service centers. Only in mid-2003 the number of ordinary members admitted  to the society exceeded 150 and is growing by 5 to 10 members monthly. PTNSS (PSSOCE) is also open to foreign entities and individuals – it already has gained two professors from foreign universities. Apart from ordinary membership the Society offers the status of supporting membership targeted at institutions and business entities. Currently 5 institutes and scientific research centers hold such membership.

    The aim of Polish Scientific Society of Combustion Engines is the integration of domestic and foreign scientific and industrial community so as to create the opportunity to exchange and disseminate knowledge and experience in the field of combustion engines of any purpose and application, promote young professionals and cooperate with the engine and engine component-related industries with a view to inspire and facilitate technological advancement.

 Our aims are realized through:

·     Publishing of a free-of-charge (for members only) scientific periodical SILNIKI SPALINOWE (Combustion Engines) of a world wide coverage;

·     Organizing of international scientific and industrial conferences;

·     Organizing and coordinating of a variety of didactic activities – professional and scientific - within the scope of combustion engines;

·     Supporting role of our society in the development of young professionals and engineers:

- organization of internships,

- guidance in obtaining further scientific degrees;

·    Opinion-forming, consulting, appraisal and advertising activities.
